Ok, I've got a question. I can get 3" pipe bent to fit from the cat back to the muffler for $58. This is the only exhaust shop in town, and they don't do mandrel bends. They'll do 2.5" for $48, but I think 3" would be better since the bends aren't smooth. Anywho, my question, would 3" piping with non-mandrel bends flow better than 2.5" with mandrel bends (I might be able to find a different shop about 45 minutes away). So anyways, opinions on this?

Well, the guy told me that they can make it fairly smooth. I assume they are just gonna make one piece of pipe from the cat all the way to the muffler. From what I've seen under the car, I don't know if there's any angle in the exhaust that's less than 45 degrees. Should I still persue this idea, and at least see how smooth they can make the bends? Sugguestions?
Either way, would you call this a bigimprovement over stock? How bout sound, would you guys think it'll sound better or will it get raspy? Or is that mostly in the muffler.

I didn't say that there weren't bends larger than 45 degrees, I said that there aren't any less than 45, which is what you said would be ok.~Chris
1999 Hugger Orange Camaro
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/273836

†…faith…hope

i would prolly go 3in non mandrel, or find 2.5 mandrel. the 3in is easy and cheap though, so taht is the route i would go. just depends on the trouble and money u can spend, which is up to you1995 black firebird,t-tops,3.4L M5 Comp cam, gutted cat,Cold Air,80 series flowmaster, limited slip rear end with 3.42 gear, Hurst Billet Plus, 17\" American Racin Torq Thrust II

Well, I got a new cat, and it's not gonna hook to the stock pipe, so either having adapters made and welded, or getting bigger pipes are my options. It's gonna cost me about the same in the end. If I have a pipe to fit, I can install it myself, if I have the adapters made, they're gonna have to install it all there.~Chris
1999 Hugger Orange Camaro
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/273836

†…faith…hope
