  • so I stoped at a muffiler shop and ...........

I stoped at this place to see about a exhaust for my camaro and I got talking with the guy and he installed FlowMasters and clamed that there is NO way to put a flowmaster on a V6 camaro and that if he ordered a 80 series for a Z28 it would cost $490 with out install  First stuped question is: is a V8 setup interchangeable with a V6? do the cats have the same bolt pattern and all?
I still owe alot of $$$$$ on this car but I figured that if it were $200 or so I would go for it but I cant see spending almost 2 car payments on a exhaust when the current one has no problems other then I dont like it.

$490?? Yeah maybe if they are dipped in gold. I have the Flow 80 rear section only and I paid like 60 bucks or somethin for it. If you want custom I pipe made its gonna be more, yes but not 400 dollars more. Plus ya need to buy tips but that wont cost ya too much. And yeah as far as I know almost all V8 Fbody exhausts can be hooked up to our cars. Some more easily than others Im sure but they can be slightly modded to fit up.

I would try to find small local shops, not the chain ones. It definatly shoud not be that much. It's quotes like that which make me seriously consider opening a muffler shop. Ask most people with duals on their trucks, they usually paid 400+.

They're ripping you off hoping you're some ignorant punk in a V6 F-Body.

I got the LS1 Loudmouth CATBACK with install kit AND install for $460. It's not a Flowmaster which is one of the less expensive systems out there. And, it's stainless.

            I'd go elsewhere.

it should be about $30 for labor and I'd buy the parts yourself over the internet. Too much markup when buying from a retail place.

Do a search on the following topic:

                    Flowmaster Catback

                    or

                    Flowmaster Catback part number

The flowmaster catback system for the v6, custom bent I pipe, high flow cat and installation was under $500.
