Cat backs don't really add power, they free up horsepower, but that's besides the point.
I'd go for the edlebrock, but that's just because I dont' like the sound of flowmaster on our cars... personal opinion.
I'd get it based more on the sound...the difference in power will be small.
You might want to consider getting a dynomax high flow 3" catylitic converter while he's under there. A little louder, and a little more flow. They go for $120canadian around here.
Good luck man.

I got my Ravin from Midas. Cost $500.00, and it was just a muffler and pipes/tips.
I like it but I should have gotten the rest(i pipe to cat).
I would go with the edelbrock with dynomax cat if I were you. It's the easiest route, and not a bad deal at all.
I've talked to guys with smaller cars paying over 1000$ CA for full exhaust systems.

sorry, i hit the wrong button. Anyway like i was saying before, You can do to advanced autoparts and get a 3" I-pipe, axle pipe for 43.00. Just have the shop make pipes coming from the muffler to your tips. You can also buy a flowmaster muffler for 50-60 bucks off their web site. Price might be a little off. Then all you have to do it pay for the install. I will be total cost will not be 600.00 I'm sure it will be way less than that. If anyone agrees with me great. If not post your thoughts. There are 2 sides to every story
