  • Converter Gone Bad?

The code I got is P0420 and was told this is due to having a bad cat converter. According to Chilton's, it says "TWC System Low Efficiency," for that code. I'm kinda confused, I just changed my converter with a Catco. Could my converter already have gone bad?

I'm not too sure, but it may be reading a different converter other than the stock one you had on, and it's throwing a code. I wouldn't necessarily say that the converter went bad. Maybe an O2 Simulator will help you.
I am thinking of getting the CATCO Converter for my car, but if it's gonna throw codes at me, fughetaboutit.

I had the 3" catco installed, and bout 1000 miles after that i got the ses light. so i bought some o2 sims the one after the cat, and that took care of it. the reason it throws that code, is because its not used to that much flow through the cat. get some o2 sims and you will be fine
