Overall, i have to say that i am very pleased with this cat-back. I was a little unsure about what it would sound like after reading the conflicting results people have had with it on a v6, but i love it more everytime i drive it. I should mention here that i did end up getting a 3" high flow cat (unexpected- long story so i won't get into it), but i am happy with the results.
First off, it sounds absolutely amazing when i start it up and when at idle. I have had a couple people tell me already that they couldn't believe it was a v6, and it actually sounds very similar to the lt-1 my friend had in the mid 90's.
To me, while driving, it sounds best in the 2000-4000 range. It is very deep and oh yes, Loud! It gets a little raspy above 4000 if the engine and cat aren't warmed up, but after driving for just a few minutes i think it sounds pretty good all the way to the red line. At WOT this is without a doubt the loudest exhaust i have heard for our cars (a cop even complimented me; well kind of- i'll post about my interesting first weekend later) ;) Another positive is that it sounds better everytime its driven. The sound has gotten deeper and smoother sounding under load within the first few days. I can't speak for the 3.8, but it sounds great on my 3.4.
As far as performance, i did notice a slight loss in low end torque, but the mid and high rpms more than make up for it big time. When i get to 3000 the car just goes. I can get to top end speeds so much faster now than before. Before i got the exhaust, after i hit 60 mph i noticed a drop off in acceleration, now i can reach 90 and higher without any hesitation at all.
Overall- sound is very good IMO (deep; rasp is minimal after being driven a few minutes- as long as you like it loud- if you don't go with another system). It's very tolerable though- and as long as you got aftermarket receiver, speakers, amp and sub, listening to music isn't a problem, lol. Thank god those were my first mods.
Noticable gains in overall performance, awesome at mid to high rpms.
Thats about it, just thought i'd post a review for the Loudmouth on the 3.4 since there are so few on here. If ya got any questions let me know.
