depends on how long and how you drive. If you get on it alot you tend to get valve float which isn't good for your motor. If you drive around 3000rpm tops, as long as you aren't melting anything with the exhaust heat it'll be fine.\'99 SSM Camaro V6 M5
(mod list on cardomain site; too long to list here)
http://www.cardomain.com/id/v6cam99

i can see some problems coming up like things getting too hot, burning wires underneath the car or o2 sensors not getting proper readings from air flowing back up into the headers cause of terbulance.

i just took them off a couple hours ago.....and was wondering if it was bad to run them like that?
after the few comments i got i put them back on. But it still sounds the same?? did i not tighten it enough?http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2038380/5
pacesetter hi-flo cat, slp loudmouth 2 w/3.5 slash tips
Springtech lowering springs 1.75 drop
Hurst sts w/ short-throw stick
Not yet installed-pacesetter headers
Zexel-torson lsd
3.73\'s

if in following correctly, no, there wont be much of a sound difference from no headers and open headers.

???? I have headers on, i unhooked them from the y pipe, after the few comments i got from the post i decided to hook them back up to the y pipe. After i did so i started the car and it sounds as if theyre still unhooked from the y pipe even though they are hooked back up? What did i do wronghttp://www.cardomain.com/ride/2038380/5
pacesetter hi-flo cat, slp loudmouth 2 w/3.5 slash tips
Springtech lowering springs 1.75 drop
Hurst sts w/ short-throw stick
Not yet installed-pacesetter headers
Zexel-torson lsd
3.73\'s

ok.....i think for a second, we thought you took the headers off. yeah, there isnt going to be much of a change from open headers to running with a ypipe and you would notice if it wasnt tight enough, it would rattle like hell and or there would be the exhaust leak tick.

its pretty damn tight do you have to tighten each screw equally so it gets a good seal or did i not align it very well when i was putting it back on?
Im just wondering why it sounds like im running open headers when all of the pipes are hooked back up?http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2038380/5
pacesetter hi-flo cat, slp loudmouth 2 w/3.5 slash tips
Springtech lowering springs 1.75 drop
Hurst sts w/ short-throw stick
Not yet installed-pacesetter headers
Zexel-torson lsd
3.73\'s

"..are you not understanding the words that are coming out of my mouth?"
I have re read that 3 times and i am still confused as to what you are doing. So first you had them completely off, then you hooked up your complete exhaust system and it sounds the same?97 RS
Member Status: F-Body Owner
Member Number: 7705
Registered: September 13, 2005
Posts: 24
Email Address: hfoxx123@yahoo.com
Location: Minnesota
Occupation: Database Administration
Homepage: http://none
Car: uh a camaro
