  • Long tube Headers..

The owner of My performance shop that does alot of work for me told me he can have some long tube headers made for about 500.00 dollars.. He wants to start mass producing them if there are people who want them.. The one problem is the Y-pie.. He suggested instead of a custom Y-pipe use a Ls1 off road Y-pipe.. I have the RKsport headers right now and he will use them as a template and a set of SLP LS1 long tubes as a template also.. Would this be worth my money??

I have just about everything else.. If I gain 10-15 more HP then the RKsport headers give you then its worth it..

Im currently on a project to make long tubes for first gen OHC-6 firebirds. I may include 4 th gen 3800s if enough interest is generated.
lining up a mandrel bender as we speak.
What size primary tube is best?
Im using 1-3/4 inch tubing for OHC-6.

1 5/8" primaries are big enough for even highly modified 3.8's..

Is there any fitament probs with using 1-3/4 inch tubing?
reason I ask is the dies for changing size 1/8 inch
are about $3K each. The first gen 3.8 and 4.1 OHC-6 loves the 1-3/4 inch long tube headers, but it may breathe better and runs up to 6500RPM.

i dont think there are fitment problems w/1 1 3/4" primaries, thats friggin expensive for dies, i didnt realize they were that high...
