  • slpcai and that black plastic....on/off?

    when you guys install the slp cai, do you usually leave the black plastic splashguard underneath on or off?

    off= more cold air / chance of water getting in

    on=safer/ less cold air

      Mine Broke.
      So, I put a aluminium sheet under it and made it look like a air duct..

        Mine is on. I thought that the purpose of the plate was to keep warm engine bay air from being sucked in and to get cooler denser air from the fender.

            He is talking about the splashgaurd under the filters, not the one on top. I would suggest leaving it on to keep your filters clean and as a safeguard in case a filter falls off or something crazy like that, it would be there to catch it.

              The black plastic thing that sits inside the engine bay is on...though one of those clips broke when I installed it but its still there. I'm guessing so stuff doesn't fly into the engine area.

              The splash guard is still there too...if the filter falls off, I know where to find it and water isn't an issue. I'm sure removing it would help airflow but I'm not convinced its worth the risk.

                  Mine is on and I personally think it would be too much of a risk to leave it off.
