it is if the exhaust exits somewhere rear of the passenger compartment. so, if you did it on a truck, you could dump it out of the bed. technically, any sidepipes are illegal in VA because of the potential for CO leakage, but i think you'd really have to piss a cop off to get a ticket for that. -
