Gettin some kinda exhaust work done tommorow and my local shop had a few sugestions. Cross flow Flowmaster which he said had a nice sound toit. $150 installed. Dynomax, which hes heard good things about $150. But then he said he could just run straight pipe in place of the muffler (i guess kinda like a compressed S for some backpressure) and have dual outs and it would have a really nice sound to it. He said kinda loud but deep which is what i want $100. Im leanin on doin that and havin two 3 inch slash tips out the back right next to each other in the middle. Think that would look good? He did say it would pop some at high RPMs cause of the lack of a muffler. But the perfomance gain would be pretty good. Any opinions would be great. Sorry so long!

That's a good price. I would just go with the muffler, 3 inch piping and a high flow cat and headers later. If you want it to really sound loud get an electric cut out. I wouldn't run open exhaust though. It's not worth to do just for the sound. Besides, I think I remember that it didn't even sound good. But I'm not sure. Just get 3 inch piping and a 3 inch high flow cat and you'll be strait.

well, i went the no muffler way. He did a pretty good job with it. Still stayed at the 2.25 pipe for now. He installed a ypipe where the muffler was and made some custom bends going into two 3 inch resonated tips. Its got a nice mellow tone now and its not very loud which is good i guess. But i imagine when i get the headers and high flow cat ill prolly run 2.5 or 3 all the way back to where the custom work is done and then leave it at 2.25 to kinda leave a little pressure so i wont have loss in low end torque. But well see what happens
