You are going to get alot of mixed emotions in this post. I cant tell you which one is best because I have only tired 1 catback. I like flowmaster. Goto your local Meineke and tell them you want a 3inch mandrel bent I pipe with a flowmaster muffler and some nice tips. They can get all the parts and put everything on for you. Or order a 93-95 LT1 camaro/firebird catback from jegs.com or somewhere. But I would just goto meineke it makes shopping around so much easier.
I have a 3 inch mandrel bent with flowmaster muffler 3 inch inlet and dual 3 inch outlet with 3.5 inch 20 inch long angle cut chrome tips. Looks and sounds very sweet. I would reccomend a similiar setup to anyone.
pgriffith is right. You are going to get a lot of mixed opinions here on which exhaust is best. If you do a search, you'll find a ton of discussions on it. As far as horsepower goes, I don't think there is much difference between the cat-back systems out there...BUT I have only seen one dyno report on our cars. It was a Popular Hot Rodding issue. and they installed a B&B cat-back system on a 96' camaro. They went from a single outlet to B&B's dual outlet. They showed some nice Hp gains, but I would imagine it might be a little less if you have a stock dual outlet. Here's the link...scan down the page, and the article is there.
The GMMG and Corsa setups can be mildy adapted to fit our cars, and they are in the upper price range. For a V6, flowing 350cfm of air, vs a V8, flowing 680+cfm of air, a $700 superflowing exhaust is not necessary to get maximum power gains.
So for our cars, a rumored "doesnt flow well" flowmaster will give you as much power gain as a "full flowing" GMMG or Corsa
Pick what you think will sound best, and do as much research as possible on the exhaust you want. If you have any questions - ask us or email one of us
Grr...you stole my line dom! ;) it's cool. Since our cars don't flow as much as a v8 does, you don't need a super expensive, super high flow exhaust. the single most effective mod on our cars is to get mandrel bent piping throughout since the stock crimp bent pipe restricts flow a lot, especially in the s-pipe bends. next would be the muffler, then everything else. If you plan on going all out on your car, a 3" cat-back would be my recommendation. If you live at higher altitudes like denver or in the mountains somewhere, 2.75 inch piping will work better since the air is thinner the higher you go.

I have had 3 or 4 different catback systems now, not to mention the combinations or catalytic converters/straight pipes/gutted cats. I have had a Dynomax superflow muffler with a 2.5" i-pipe, Flowmaster 80-series with i-pipe and now a Loudmouth. Each of these system has been run with a gutted cat, high flow cat and a straight pipe. My best performance has been from the 3" high flow cat and Loudmouth. I also like the sound of the 2.5" i-pipe and Flowmaster 80-series. The Dynomax was on the cae when I bought it and I don't really remember what it sounds like. The Loudmouth sounds great and for around $400 shipped, it's not a bad deal either.

I have Viper98885's old exhaust actually, and I really like the flowmaster 80, w/ the hi flow cat and mandral bent i-pipe... dont think I, personally, would wanna go much louder... its a nice exhaust note and its not hell raising when youre cruising, just nice and throaty when you're accelerating

Well, one mag dynoed bb tri flow
A gain of 13 rwhp and 14 rwtq was seen.
I don't know of any other cat back that has given those gains.
But it is the most expensive.
I went with edlebrock
