If I were to remove my Catalytic Converter would I need one or two 02 simulators. And is it a good idea do this with a magnaflow. Will it sound better or worse?

You'll either need an 02 sim or a reflashed vcm. It'll sound like ****. Only do it if you care more about performance than driveability.

Yeah really, the penalty has got to be steep in cali. Castration maybe?

I know a great place that will put on a highflow in Costa Mesa for a good price. This guys does a quality job. He will put on the OBD1 version of the cat which is less expensive but illegal on the OBII cars.

Grand Prix Performace in Costa Mesa, go to the back and ask for Steve. Tell him the guy with the Pewter Firebird sent you.

              As for no cat.
In Cali there is a Smog Inspection every 2 years. Or when title of car transfers.

However unless you do it yourself or "know" somebody. No shop is going to take it off.

You can get away with it up to your next Smog inspection, unless you "know" somebody too.

Ive had a highflow on two different cars and never had a problem with the High Flow getting me in trouble in like 6 years. I passed smog every time.

i wouldn't recommend getting rid of the cat. i just gutted mine last week because it was clogged. It's loud as hell and sounds crappy. I'm getting a new cat this weekend and driving my brother's car till i get it fixed. good high end performance though. ^_^

yea take these guys advice our cars actually get hurt performance wise, unless you soder in a 02 sim. But even then it will give you maybe 1/2 hp to the wheels
