i was thinking of putting a single in/out magnaflow right where my catalytic converter was and was thinking what do you guys think of that. my friend said my car might sound a whole lot better since it has all that pipe fo sound to travel to and the muffler is under the car. is he crazy or is he right.

Hmm...ive never heard of that before but it might help it to sound a little deeper if you think about it. Kinda like a wind instrument. The longer the tubes, the deeper the sound. Id say its worth a shot if you can fit in there somehow. If you dont like it you can always change it.

I have replaced my cat with a dynomax bullet muffler. sound is a little worse, but performance is better.

if your car is stock you can stick with 2.5 for performance. The 3" will put the performance a little higher in the power curve but will still be there. 3" would be deeper and louder, but even with the straight muffler it will prolly sound raspy without the cat. Search for straight pipe or removed cat and check out your options.

Telling someone to use the search is like telling someone to kill themselves. They more than likely won't do it but we always hope that they will.

Look at my setup. I removed the cat, mounted a Flowmaster 40 series where it used to be, ran a pipe straight out the back with a "Y" pipe near the muffler exiting the drivers side.

I used to think so. Now it's just annoying.
