would it kill your torque if you had 3 inch pipe from the manifolds all the way to the muffler witha 2.5 inch outlet or would it be ok?

I think it would be fine.

you would have less torque at lower rpms and the torque peak is higher with a larger pipe. overall you should at least gain some torque through out the rpm band.

I have a 3 inch catback mandrel bent and if anything it felt more powerfull. I just bought a set of RKSPORT headers a 3inch catco cat and a 3 inch mandrel bent S pipe. Havent got them on yet though. You will have my review soon as I do.

not as much low end torque but more top end torque.

is there a happy medium between the too cause im thinking the sound quality would be excellent with the 3 inch but i dont want to loose power where i need it the most (the low end)

you wouldn't be able to tell at low end. some cars actually don't loose low torque but every car is different

ight thanks man now the only question is how to get a 3 inch y pipe?
i know this is the wrong place for this but since you are paying attention mostly
how do you like your direct hits ignition?

its good gave me 1-2 more mpg. The throttle response is better. Well you have to find a y-pipe collector from summitracing.com or jegs.com I don't know the part number and I am sure other places sell them you can probally search for it and find it. I would go 2.5 from manifolds to 2.5 collect 3 in out to the cat and the rest 3" cept 2.5 coming off the exhaust. That would be a good setup and it will sound bad *** too. Just get someone to custom bend those pipes from the manifold to the collector or if you want to wait awhile on the y-pipe get headers that come with the y-pipe.

not trying to affect your decision but i heard they were a pain to put on and leak bad at the y flanges? could just be speculation though. i have yet to hear a v6 with headers and would really like to know? still tryingto figure out the y pipe ting i knw there is onefrom suncoast that is 2.75 but it is also 245 and is made for the v8
