Have you done any intake mods?? My car seemed a lil slow to my friends car when I first got it. I did the free ram air and that really opened it all up. I mean there should still be the gain from the exhaust (hopefully finding a hole and patching it will help), but any intake would help it out some. You know, if anything it's another mod, but it helped my car some, and maybe it'll just give the exhaust system a lil more air to work with maybeAIM: Alientr8tr
1998 Camaro 3.8L
Flowmaster 80-series, !FRA, Eibach Springs, KYB AGX, SLP sway bars, 3.42/LSD, Wings West kit, Z06 Motorsports, Silverstone Metallic paint
Shift 5 - My Band

am I the ONLY person who DID NOT FEEL a loss at LOW end after doing FULL EXHAUST!?
after i put my headers, 3inch hiflow cat, 3inch mandrel bent catback, and flowmaster 80 series muffler.. i noticed a HARDER Pull throughout the whole RPM RANGE...
i guess you guys just expect too much from an exhaust upgrade..and get dissapointed and think its worse than stock

for crying out loud people, I had an exhaust leak. Its all fixed now and it feels a little better than it did with the y87 exhaust on and sounds excellent.
I dynoed my car this morning and came out with 173RWHP
262RWTQ-not sure how accurate that is they said they had a problem with the dyno cable.
Any way thanks for the sarcasim Im all good now

but yea.. i dont know how.. but exhaust leaks rob major power! its unbelievable..
how much did they charge for the dyno? how many runs did u get?

Unbelievable is an understatement, they were just 2 tiny little holes on the welds. You could see the soot(spelling?)building up. I could hear and feel an immediate difference it was great cause right after that I went to the dyno.
Anyway we got a group rate for 35 bones for 3 pulls. My friend dynoed his SRT-4 w/ stage 1 and only made 227hp and 240tq I beleive. It was in hallandale beach at a place called speed injection, Im not sure how far away from their you are but I can give you more info on were they are located and a phone number, maybe we could hook up their.

I know this, thanks. They put a big a$$ fan in front of the car to simulate airflow but Im not really sure how much that helps.

seat of the pants, you should be able to tell some kind of difference any time you make ANY modification... ie... my car is much more effective at passing cars on the highway with my cutout open, and it is slightly better at stompin stangs with it closed. the loss in torque is somewhat due to 2 factors, one: you don't have as much backlog to make your car feel choppy in low rpms, and two: you actually do lose a little bit of low rpm torque. there is a little gas vapor left in exhast after it passes through the cylinders, so backlog of exhaust does allow cylinders to hold more gas, exhaust instead of fresh air. resulting in a little bit more power. miniscule. tiny. but at higher rpms, when there is more air moving through the engine, the cylinders pack themselves with oxygen rich air and backlog air is comprised of co2 and gasoline vapor, therefore it is not as prone to combustion as oxygen. this explains the power gains experienced most of the way across the power band vs the slight loss at the beginning when a better exhaust system is installed.

nope no blower or anything just y87, free ram air mods and muffler. Im not so sure that the torque number is right they had difficulty putting the dyno cable on. so I dont know what to think.I posted the numbers to see if these were normal but noone replied.
