muffler mounting location

hi. once winter's over i'm planning to have some exhaust work done on my '98 Camaro 3.8. i'm curious as to wether there is sufficient space to mount the mufflers in front of the rear axle. i also own a '92 Buick Regal with a 3.8 and had the exhaust redone this past summer. i had a 2.5" y-pipe bent and two little cherry bomb turbo mufflers in back. they make a great sound and i'm looking for something similar, but maybe a bit louder. however i'm not very familiar with mufflers so i'm looking for some recommendations. i like a nice low rumbly tone. thanks much.

also, would my sensors go crazy if i removed the cat?

get an O2 sim and you'll be fine if you remove the cat, but check local law first so the police don't hammer you on cat removal.
