  • dynomax super turbo or glasspack

    i have a v6 camaro.

if i took the orgional muffler off and went down to the parts store, and bought a super turbo muffler.. what all would i need? The same goes with a glasspack.

Also, would it sound good, or will it sound like a ricer? I have heard of some kind of "rasp" sound but im not sure what everyone is talking about.

what would sound better, the glasspack, or the super turbo? Remember, im keeping the stock cat. converter on for now... but in the future i plan to get a hi-flow cat.

Does anyone have any sound clips that have a 3.8 with a glasspack or a superturbo on it? One that acually has the car at idle, and revving up? I want to hear this "rasp" sound too.

    thanks

I did a search and found a stock v6 firebird with everything stock with just a super turbo muffler. That was probably the best sounding v6 F-body I have ever heard. If I decide not to get my Flowmaster cat-back, I am going to get the Dynomax muffler. As for the glasspack, I dont know how that sounds.

If I find the sound clip, I will send the link.

I have a 3.8 camaro with just Whisper Lid & Dynomax super turbo...it's just slightly louder than a Y87 exhaust or a SS/WS6 takeoff. There is rasp...not really that noticeable when accelerating under load...but if you rev it up in idle, I think about past 3k or so, it'll start having this metallic tincan rasping noise. But then again, I don't rev it in neutral. When idling, it has a very low growl...can't really hear it...again, just slightly deeper than stock or Y87/SS/WS6 takeoff muffler. Be warned though, I'm pretty sure it drones louder than Y87/SS/WS6. So if you do a lot of highway driving, take that into consideration.
Yes, I know \"Artic\" should be spelled \"Arctic\". Can any of the mods change this?

I'm really busy at the moment, but I can post up some clips when I get time(in a couple of weeks). I got the muffler a long time ago, but I believe it's 2.5" in & out. I have the stock SS(they don't say SLP on them) dual dual tips on it.
