  • air box question

I have done the search for free ram air but the link I found was showing a V8 air box. my question is can we get a V8 air box and put it on a 1996 3.8? if not what is the free ram air mod for the V6 car? thanks in advance?

I'm pretty sure the free ram air is only for the 98+ f-bodies.
for the 95-97 guys you have to head to home depot to get some ABS tubing and make your own K&N on a stick intake

ive seen both v6 and v8 airboxes and im almost sure theyre the same ones. The elbow at the throttle body might be different, but as far as the airbox goes its pretty much the same. The only thing you can really do to it is stick in a K&N filter and take the scilencer off... (that big plastic thing on the right side of it... i also cut a big hole in the side of my airbox... but i dunno if that really did anything or not)

Most people will say just save up and get the SLP Cai. I will agree with them. Its well worth it and if you get one used you can get it for well under 200.

Check this site out, I am going to use this set up for free ram air. It might help you out to.

Also I cut my airbox on the bottom, so now air can come in the bottom. It does make a little noise now when I give it gas, I can hear the air being sucked in. Kinda cool I think.
