• 3.4L locking header bolts and gaskets question

I am about to have my pacesetters installed and I was wondering what was the locking bolt package from summit bolt size? I saw in the lounge last month where 95bat ordered the wrong ones and I want to get the correct ones. also I have a few of felpro gaskets and pacesetter gaskets. I have been reading on and off where diffrent ones were better and in the next thread they were considered the worst. has the battle ended with a winner yet? also saw where someone used high-temp RTV on theirs and havent had any leaks. any suggestions here? what about cutting the felpros till the exaust port matches the gasket or somethign?

Wish I could help you with any of your questions, but I've been in deep thought about getting the pacesetters for my 3.4. If you wouldnt mind, after you get them on, tell me how you like them, problems/issues, etc.

so the 22mm underhead will work? that seems like the link 95bat showed that didn't work. not saying your wrong '94 but I would like someone to second that before I order them just to make sure

just measured the headers, they are 9.5 mm thick so I guess 22 mm will work. but it does seem kinda short. only 12.5 mm to work with, hmmmmm maybe

The Fiero gaskets are working great for me so far, they were the best gaskets we could find.

And the 22mm underhead length is INCREDIBLY short. Its like 2.5 or 3 threads holding the bolt in, which is not much at all.
I think I use 30 or 32mm underhead length bolts.
Just clean the bolts REALLY well, clean the holes, if you can clean the threads on the bolts and in the holes then do that too, it makes screwing them in WAAAAAAAY easier. Then locktite them in, tighten them as much as you can, and you should be ok

where did you get your bolts? all the ones summit has have the 22mm underhead. does the thread size need to be 8mm-1.25? I ask because in searching I found a post where someone said 10mm-1.25. and just looking at my tape measure 10mm is almost the same as 3/8, which most of the thread sizes are on summit. and a lot of the 3/8 bolts have 1" underheads which are just over 25mm

I actually went to a dealership to find some LS1 manifold bolts. My dad and I walked into their shop and started talking to a mechanic in there and he ended up giving us like 26 bolts. The LS1 manifold bolts were $4 a bolt too, saved me some money. I think mine have a 10mm head if I remember right.

That's correct. The benefit of the LS1 bolt is the 10mm head....it makes installation A LOT easier.
