  • Need some Cat help!

Hey guys, I am set on getting the Rumbler now and just going to go ahead and grab the SLP Installation kit. Now, I am wanting to go ahead and get a high flow Cat now also. I need to go 3 inch right? I have a 98 Camaro, and its all stock but Whisper lid. Could someone maybe supply me with a link with a Cat that would be exactly what I need? I've heard Catco is good, any others? I see stuff about Oxygen Boss and AIR Injectors, whats up with that? What do I need guys? Help me out here please.

magnaflow also makes a good priced cat, check ebay for a link. you want 3" in and 3" out (if youre planning on headers), otherwise you will be creating a bottleneck in your exhaust and lose some power. if you get a hiflow cat and a catback the only thing youre missing for a full exhaust is some headers! good luck.

dont waste your money on the SLP kit. buy a 3inch S pipe from jegs or summit, cut it in half, flip one side around and weld it back together. MUCH cheaper. i also suggest a magnaflow/carsound cat.im not sure on the oxygen stuff, but im sure your going to need oxygen sensors sooner or later . but i think the air is just if you have a M5.

Ah, well I already ordered the SLP kit and the Rumbler from TSP. With the cat I was told that I wont need any of that stuff, just a 3inch in 3 inch out with none of that. Is that true?

any of what? im a little confused. im pretty sure no matter what you do, you need either a o2 sensor, or a 02 simulator. i dont see how you could get around that. and im pretty sure only the m5's need the air injection stuff.

btw, do you think you could get a sound clip? ild love to hear the rumbler with a hi-flow cat. ive heard it before a few times, but they were all cammed cars.

              No 3.8s have AIR....only 3.4s.

You can get a cat that has it, though. It doesn't matter if the cat has it or not. My Catco 6007 has it, but it's just blocked off so no difference.

Yes I will try and get a sound clip up once everything is installed. Looks like I'm gonna go with the Catco 6007 and an 02 Sim.
