Flowmaster Cat-back

Does the 2.5" FLowmaster cat-back for the 95-97 3.8L V6 (part # 17357) hook right up to the cat or does it hook up to the S-pipe? If anyone has a pic of where it hooks up that would help me out a lot.

hooks up to the cat, hence, cat-back...
its a new i-pipe (what you are referring to as the S-pipe, i guess), which goes to an over-the axle pipe, which enters teh muffler, and then out....

umm...actually, ianwells you are wrong, because it does go to the s pipe. The i pipe (intermediate pipe) runs from the s pipe to the over axle pipe.

So the 2.5" Flowmaster cat-back (part # 17357) connects to the S-pipe then? I called Flowamster twice and spoke to 2 different workers, neither of which sounded confident in their answer. One said it connects directly to the cat, the other said it connects to the S-pipe. It's very re-assuring to know that the guys who make the system don't even know where it connects or how.

I got the Flowmaster American Thunder kit and it hooks to the S-pipe after the cat. It'd be wise to have an exhaust shop put in a high flow cat and make a new pipe after the cat that's 2.5" in diameter. Because you're going 3" into the cat then 2.25" out to 2.5" for the cat-back system.

ok, if you think so...

the fact of the matter is, i've installed 2 of these, a 2.5" one on a 95 3.4L, and a 3" one on my 97 3.8L, and guess what, they both include an 's-pipe'

no joke, i could go take pictures of how my high flow cat (3") goes straight into the 3" catback...
