I dont think anyone would argue that point. Going from a 2" exhaust to a 3" would prove many gains

That's not a fair statement. A stock 3.8 may suffer... only one way to find out. Dyno! Bigger isnt' always better ;)

It has already been proven by Toast on this board. He ran a 15.3 with an air filter and a ravin muffler. When he converted it to a catco cat and 3inch flowmaster cat back he ran a 14.8. I don't know why anyone beleives it dropped off half a second or more???? I know him, and he wouldn't lie about it, he has time slips to prove it.

Yes it is true. One misconception on the 3.8 is that they need a ton of backpressure. Indeed the 3.8 doe need some back pressure but a balance can be achevied in doing so. 1st let me point out taht no matter what anybody say the 3.8 LOVES to breath and weather it is bring in the air or expelleing it the more the better. On the other hand you can't do full exhaust and expect any gain if you have not done no intake work. Ther must be an equal balance there that must be acheved in order for any gains to be noticed. Also on a mostly N/A car you need to have a balence in exhaust too. If you run with out a cat into a SLP Loudmouth for example you are going to lose too much backpressure and a ton of power but, if you run a highflow cat into a 3 inch exhaust that exits into a flowmaster(which by its design uses the engine's backpressure to help move exhaust gas around the chambers) then you would achevie that balance. I chose flowmaster for 2 reasons; 1st for the sound, 2nd so i can achevie that right amount of backpressure needed with out scrificing power.

track times wont be a judging thing tho because i added some other stuff with the exhaust
