  • cat vs. no cat

I don't have to worry about emmisions at all. I was wondering what the hp gain or loss would be if i took my cat out and just ran straight pipe. Loudmouth is going to be following whatever i decide to go with on the cat.

    Luda says smell baaaaadd

Damn, a loud mouth and not cat, sounds like you want to be heard ;) . From listening to the other guys on this board, I'd personally go with a High flow cat.

Where in KY are you? I can let you hear mine if you want. I have no cat followed by a Flowmaster 40 series that dumps at the passenger side rear floorboard. Cuting the cat WILL cause you to loose bottom end power, but top end will improve SLIGHTLY. The sound however is worth it to me. IT SMELLS LIKE *** sometimes though! I mean, it stinks BAD some days.

I had a high flow put on my 3.8 and it gave it a louder exahust tone. I'd say just get a catco, it's cheap and your car won't smell like the booty.

I have a setup very similar to devilboy. My low end doesn't seem to suffer a whole lot, and I think the top end is very very good. Sound is awesome, no chainsaw what so ever for me. I'm not going to keep it that way for long. I think with the loudmouth and no cat, it's just going to be over bearing. Get yourself a cat, and save the environment.

I hollowed out my cat. It sounded like crap for a few weeks, like a big exhaust leak. Now, it sounds the same as stock pipe w/ a Flowmaster, but louder.
