• Stupid question...

I know, I know, you can me for this one. Of all my years working on cars, I have spent little time on exhaust system (just my Borla on the FB and some coat hangers on various other cars over the years :D )

I was looking at my old cat (new catco going in!) and the bolts are rusted solid. Do you guys use PB Blaster (WD-4, whatever) on exhaust pipes or will that lead to a Firebird fireball?

In addition, if I have to cut off the old bolts, what do I replace them with? Are exhaust bolts any sort of high grade/temp steel to put up with the temps? Or will any old home depot bolts do?

Thanks, and sorry for the dumb questions. I would rather be safe than to go out in flames.

    Jason

u wont go out in flames if you are trying to loosen bolts with that stuff... it no big thang, just dont smoke anything down there or light anything up. and obviously dont start the car. youll have no problems whatsoever.

find any bolt they will do , they all do the samed thing. if you really are afraid of strenght buy some good ones that are of quality steel and good sizse. u'll be fine.
