i got my magna flow exhaust installed and a high flow cat a few months ago. i notice that when it is at 3000 rpm and below it sounds great but when i get passed those rpms it just sounds bad. is there anything i can do about it? my friend says its because i have a small displacement motor and v6 thats why it starts popping bad. is it true? i want to be able to fix this problem and fix it fast. ive heard that if you put a dynomax bullet muffler in between the muffler and the cat it should fix the problem. true?
    Is it a V8? NO! It's a v6 foo

Do you have a manual transmission? I have a 94, 5spd and it will pop at high rpms and sometimes when the car is warm and I coast in neutral. I THINK it is because my AIR pump is not working, supposedly it should be pushing air into the cat. I suspect the pop is from a rich exhaust hitting the cat and detonating. If you put an expensive cat on your car I would make sure this isn't the problem, rich exhaust can damage the cat.

Add a resonator to the I-pipe, it mellows all that popping crap out and it's much smoother. I run a dynomax bullet in mine and yes it makes a big difference.
