  • SLP CAI VS. Whisper

I was just wondering which is better, the SLP CAI or the Whisper CAI. They both look the same but the whisper is just a little more expensive. Are they the same or is whisper a little better? SLP says its a cold air intake, whisper says ram air. Pieces look the same though.

I think the whisper lid might be better for your car but don't quote me on that.

Theres only like a 20 dollar difference, but the whisper is newer so maybe they made it a little different for more performance. anyone know for a fact?

SixBanger, the whisper lid and the ram air cai are two different things.

The whisper ram air kit comes with the ram air and block off plates unlike the SLP.

The SLP and Whisper CAI are almost identical. Check out the Super Sucker Ram Air that actually scoops in air. I believe the price is going to be dropped to $199. Here's the link for a picture at LM Performance.

also according to the guys at fast toys the whisper is a direct rip off of one of their older designs.. there is a post on here about it somewhere.. this came directly for a guy that works for fast toys.. or at least says he does..

Well, that's the negative side of the business. I go for the best bang for the buck. Why spend more money because of the NAME of a product?

The Whisper kit is a copy of the very first version of the Fast Toys ram air kit. Since that time, we have made many updates to the kit to improve the performance, installation, and overall construction of the kit.

The SLP kit is really only a cold air kit. It does not route air directly into the duct work which is its limitation on performance.

The super sucker kit looks good but is made of plastic and can be damaged by parking curbs etc. It also is easily seen from the front of the vehicle while the FTRA is very stealthy and made of stainless steel so it will last the life of your vehicle .

It is up to the consumer to pick the product which they feel best balances cost, performance, quality and customer service.
