I gained .2 tenths from installing that SLP CAI, and prior to that I had gained .3 from my edelbrock catback. I can't believe that I dropped half a second from just an intake and exhaust. I'd imagine that you'll see similar gains after some exhaust work.

take off speed loss? NO! sounds ricey up top? for the most part yeah (unless you get 2.5" piping but why would you do that?). I lost 1/2 a second off my time with intake and exhaust too, also had a worse 60ft time due to spinning the tires outta the hole.

It all depends on what people's perseption is. In the upper rpm's it's not going to sound like a V8. However I definately wouldn't call it "rice", it definately doesn't sound like a crappy 4 banger, just sounds like an aggressive 6. If you're curious about what all the exhaust's sound like, check out the Exhaust Sound Clips sticky at the top of this forum to give you an idea.

I got a magnaflow full 3" catback and cat a couple weeks ago put on, and it sounds awesome....no power loss at takeoff, in fact a little better, and your acceleration at higher speeds in top gear( > 60 mph) should be better, at least for me

all i can say, is i've had my flowmaster american thunder for a few months now, and i love it. the sound has really grown nice and deep. I was trying to race my friend who owns a 00 v6 stang, and as soon as he heard me go WOT he called my cell and just bragged about how good it sounded and even intimidating.

                            this might help your research:

and this is full guide for the magnaflow 15620 93-97 LT1 V8 full 3" conversion.

My car is very deep sounding. It is also very loud approaching full throttle. No one ever thinks I am cooking a bowl of rice...though I have been known to eat a bowl or two.

I really like the sound of my Flowmaster American Thunder. It's cery rumbly at low RPM's if you like that kind of sound.
