I'm not sure where to find a 2.5inch I pipe. Stock I pipes are 2.25inch, 8s are 2.75inch and they make 3inch ones. 2.5 is the odd ball out. You can buy a 3 inch dynomax i pipe from stores like Advanced Auto Parts and NAPA for around 90bucks. Good luck finding it though. I checked all 3 bordering states around me and nobody had it. I even checked summit and they had one part on back order for a month. You could go that route or you could just use adapters and peice up any z28/trans am I pipe. I couldn't find any so I broke down and just bought a whole catback.
I gave up trying to find a mandrel 2.5" for my car. Instead, out of the Carsound 3" cat I'm using 2 3" 45's to replace the S-pipe (major nastiness in the stock) and leaving the rest of the stock I-pipe to the muffler. This gives roughly the same backpressure as a pure 2.5" s- and i-pipe, maybe 1-2"H20 higher (not much).
