I've talked to a few people on this issue, and the general consensus is that it won't provide much benefit because it closes under WOT. But I'm kinda skeptical and still think there would be some type of benifit, even if it just is keeping all of that crap outta the intake.
I'm really not sure about the running issues.
Look me up on AIM sometime, I'm interested in doing this.

I think it'd be nice to have it blowing out into open air and not into the intake. My SES light is always coming on when I decelerate but I don't know if it's sticking open or shut? If it's shut I'll just leave it but I have no way of knowing. Oh well. If I get bored this summer, I'll going to make a plate to block it off and see how my car runs. If anything I'd like to get that ugly bulky thing out from under my hood. It sure makes changing plugs a major pain.

I put a blockoff plate on mine between the intake manifold and the tube that sends the exhuast gases back to the intake. I did it this way so that I would not get an SES light from the computer, also so that the people at the inspection (emissions) place would not notice and in the long run, it does what I am looking for it to do. I could not tell any performance gains, but I am sure that keeping those gases from recirculating through the engine is helping in ways that I cannot feel.
The blockoff plate is easy to make...simply use the gasket between the tube and the manifold as a template to cut a small piece of sheet steel or aluminum to go between the two pieces. Use a gasket between the tube and blockoff plate and then another between the plate and the manifold. When all is bolted up, you're done.

My major problem is one of the bolts is snapped, I cannot reach it to drill it out, I also am not pulling hte manifold or putting in headers.
So it half hangs, and has the tendency, to fry my passenger bank ignition wires, and sometimes screw up my plugs, its done this before, and I realy do not feel like putting in the new plugs and wires I have sitting around just to have them get fried.
I figure a plate, I might be able to hold just a plate down tight enough to keep it from letting too much air out., also figured making a plate for the intake too.
I have no emmisions so I am not worried about that.
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
