  • horsepower from ram air hood?

I have heard that you will get a few hp from a ram air hood with the stock air box. With the mods I have done to my intake tract so far, what is the logical, conservative amount of hp that I will gain from adding a ram air H.O. hood from SLP? I say conservative because I don't want to be suprised with less hp than I was expecting since I may be doing this as a performance upgrade as well as a asthetic upgrade. Thanks for any and all input.

Probably none, except the cooling effect, unless you get the homeade ram air or some kind of funtional ram air box.

need to go functional.........you'll have less heat under your hood though, and it'll be lighter...All the weight helps.....but you need an airbox or some other kinda setup to get anything noticeable from it

I doubt you see in increase in hp. All it will do is lighten the car and keep the engine cooler.

I didn't notice any gain when I put mine on...

It works with the stock airbox for 98+ fbody's...

It probably does give extra horse at speeds of 100+ but for the average daily drive to work you won't feel anything (except maybe a little cooler cause you have a ram air hood!)

But I do think that it helps with cooling a lot, and is an easy 20lbs off the nose of your car...
