I am not interested in the dyna super turbo thing. Thanks a bunch guys. and and what is an I pipe?

              Heres a straight answer.

I had an LS1 Formy take off exhaust on my car for about 8 months. Listen to a stock Z28/Formula/T/a non-ws6 and they will idle the same.

It did however rice out like ALL v6 exhausts, but you couldn't hardly hear it at all. It was noticebly throatier/louder than the stock turndown however. The z28/formy/TA are all 2.75" in diamter and the 98-02 will not bolt up at all to our V6 exhausts...they will have to do some fabbing, and the s-bend will choke it down.

I suggest you try and find a 93-95 LT1 single cat take off exhaust as these are routed the same as ours are.

The SLP versions have louder mufflers, they idle like my hooker does, but aren't as loud at WOT as my hooker. A girl I know locally has as 99 Firebird with the SLP take off from an SS Camaro and it sounds really good...mellow compared to my hooker. It is 3" in diamter though and have nice tips. You will need to find one that came off an SS Camaro or Trans Am Firehawk.

Here's what I did and I'm very happy with it. Buy the Hooker 93-95 LT1 Catback from a sponsor (like thunder racing) and you will be very happy. It includes everything for you to have a full 3" exhaust from the catback, including the S-bend. Nice tips and all.

Here is a pic of my car from behind, and the muffler is black.

              Good luck.

Dude no offense but how old are you?

First you say you searched about Z28/SS exhaust, then you go and ask the performance differences and ask what an I-Pipe is?... Not only that but you go off on the first guy who falsified your "hard search", AND provided proof threads...

If you're going to look for answers on the Message Boards, then you need to be just as cooperative as those who help you and quit whining...

Or maybe some of the "senior" members could be a little more mature themselves and instead of fingerpointing, actually help the person out.

It took me all of 5 minutes to type that reply and it was what the guy was asking. Life is too short to get angry on boards at newbs. If the person is a repeat offender, I can see being a search nazi...I get ticked when I see people trying to fit and and be cool by making a new look like an *** and just being a search nazi.

Granted, he shouldn't have lashed out like that.

Whatever, I gave the guy an answer...its done, let the crap ride.

ya, and thanks for that, I did too search but like I said I wanted someone who had seen firsthand. Nearly every searched topic said something different so I didn;t know what to beleive then some idiot came talking crap.

the reason I didnt want the hooker is that I dont want it very loud unless I am WOT also I wanted to pick up some exhaust for cheap. so Im still looking into the stock z or ss exhaust

The hooker is as mellow as the SLP take off at idle, but its quite loud at WOT...but not as loud as a loud mouth or flowmaster.

Sounds like you want the SLP Take off then.

Depends on where you can find them. I hard a pretty difficult time finding my regular LS1 take off.

Check ebay, post on a V8 site etc.
