  • exhaust setup for forced induction

While I don't have FI right now I plan to down the road. I want to know what would be the optimum setup for such. I would like input for both supercharger and turbo as they could/would be different. Performance is first, fitment second, and sound is third. Thanks in advance.

A true dual 2.5" system would be optimal for a 10psi or higher boosted V6. Everything else is less optimal regardless of size.

Single turbo would be 3" open downpipe, doesn't get any easier/cheaper than that.

downpipes usually terminate at the cat, but xjarayax means just have a turbo w/ an open downpipe. depending how far you get into the engine, a 3" exhaust would be minimal, this equates out to a 2.25" true dual exhaust. dominic's 2.5" true dual would allow u hardly ne backpressure, and equates out to a single pipe exhaust being 3.5" i think. this would be great if u had cam/heads and everything else done also. they make exhaust's that big for 450 hp LS1's, so I think u'd be good w/ at least 3" and no bigger than maybe 3.5" or 3.75".
