  • OK, EVERYONE post here if you have a 2K+ camaro with O2 sim problems!

    OK here is the deal..
I am like 99% sure the high voltage problem only occurs on 2k+ cars.. I have yet to find an older car that has the problem..

Now, I would honestly like a working O2 sim.. and i have recived 3 emails todate with people asking me questions on how to fix this. Unoftunatly i dont have an answer..

SO! I say we start a list, off all the 2000+ camaros that have an o2 sim and are getting a high voltage error code..

I plan on emailing this list to a few groups at first casper and ZZP and see if they know that this is a problem.. and how do they plan to fix it..

I feal kinda screwed at this point.. and kinda wnat my money back from zzp.. because they dont relizes that the part dosent work on 2k+ cars..

    SO!

IF (AND ONY IF) YOU HAVE A 2000 or newer V6 F-BODY!
AND YOU ARE STILL GETTING A CODE AFTER YOU INSTALLED YOUR O2 SIM..

    Please post, your cars:
    Name,
    Model year,
Where you bought your O2 Sim,
AND what error you have recived (as a confirmation) its ok if you dont know the error just leave this part blank..

    EX:

    High Voltage Error

I will pass this info on to zoomer and casper electonics and see if they are willing to try and find a solution.. If anyone else knows of a place that might have a fix please let me know here or via email and i will try them also..

Please DONT post unless you have a solution, or you fit the criterion above..

Not sure if you want to hear this or not, but I bought an O2 sim from RKSport for my 2k1 bird and it works great. I am using it on the after the cat sensor. No errors, no nothings, the car still thinks the sensor is there.

Yo Allthegoodnewsaregone, I have the same problem you have. SES light went off for 20 minutes after installing the o2 simulator, then came back on again after another 20 minutes of driving. Not really sure why, but pretty sure its a high voltage error. I bought the simulator from zzperformance.

allthegoodnamesaregone: I think I cursed myself when I said something about the check engine light staying off...it came back on 2 days ago. I don't have a camaro, but it's still the same high voltage problem. IMO...I think when they designed the o2 sims, they did it with an LS1 computer in mind. When I bought mine, it came with two, but the v-6 only uses one. If that was the case though, you would think they would have made different o2 sims for the v-6 and v-8. Either way, someone should let the companies know that there is a problem.

allthegoodnamesaregone: I went by the Performance shop I bought my o2 sims from and they told me that no one had come back with a problem except for me and looked at me like I was crazy...they told me there are two different sims for my car and i could swap for the others, but there was still no guarantee that the light will stay off. I guess my car's computer will end up being reprogrammed sometime in the near future with that error code deleted...good luck with yours

yeah.. that seems to be the solution..

I wish i could reprogram my pcm.. just to get rid of that dam code.. its soo annoying.. i am sick of clearing it.. I dont want to cheet on emmisions or anything.. i just want to run a cat without having to feal with all this BS..

if that other SIM works out for you let me know.. try it out for a few weeks and report back if you dont get a code.. i will buy one..
