  • headers installed but problem arise :(

    ok the pacesetters are on but now i hear a ticking noise comming from the driver side header. is this a leak and if so how do i fix it?

    by the way the sound is great with my loudmouth and carsound cat [img]smile.gif[/img]

    yes, its most likely a leak. driver's side might be egr. if its not just tightening them may fix it, or you might have to take them off and use a new gasket and some ultra copper or red perm.. if its the egr, try a new gasket for the egr with some ultra copper or red perm. (i think your year has a gasket on it)

    an idea that works well is take a couple foot long piece of small pvc/plastic pipe and put it to your ear with the engine running listen to different areas to pinpoint the exact location of the noise. watch those fans and belts though.

        i got same problem.. i sealed the EGR up wiht a lot of stuff.. still same sound, so i dunno. might be header gasket

            I hate to say this but, it might not be a leaky gasket. I have had the same problem with mine and i have had mine for like a year, wiht custom mad gaskets thick enough for a drag car. LOL... I have had my car check at many local shops, they have found nothing. I have even talked to pacesetter they said it is the header. Sometimes there headers like to tick, and it will sound like an exhaust leak. I know it sucks, but thats the way it is.
