I think the O2 sim has it's own plug, and does not go into the exhaust. It's just a small black box that tricks the sensor into thinking it's plugged in and working fine (not sure though).
And to answer your second question:
There are some people here that had a CATCO installed and had no SES problems, and some threw a SES light as they first started their car when it was installed.
I bought a CATCO, and a O2 sim (I didn't get the O2 sim in the mail yet). I will install/weld it in myself sometime this summer.

Go to another guy. I don't understand what not having a secondary O2 sensor location has to do with welding on a new cat. The 2nd O2 sensor is in the "s" bend of the exhaust anyways.
I had a catco put on and it threw a SES light a few days later. I got my O2 sim from www.zzperformance.com and it worked fine.99\' Black Camaro SS
M6/T-Tops - SLPLid w/K&N | Hurst Billet Plus w/ LSS | EGR Mod
Black 97\' Camaro T-Tops (RIP)

well the guy already bought mandrel bends and stuff for my car so im stick with this guy. He said the CAT i brought in doesnt have a place for the o2 sensor. So should i just let him leave it hanging and hook in an o2 sensor later? i thought i had everything figured out till this. He said he could weld it in somewhere but then it would probably just bring the SES light anyways. Any advice and advice already given is greatly appreciated. thanks my IM is: BlueFlameMaker

that guy is an idiot..
all you need to do is buy a dam o2 bung and weld it into the dam exhaust after the cat..
I would tell him to go **** himself and take it somewhere else..

Agreed
Go to another shop and have a bung welded in. If it throws a SES, then buy a sim for it.
