  • Air Lid question (98+ owners)

Yes, I've searched in this section, but didn't get any solid answers.
It's said that the 98+ airlid's will not work on the 93-97 intakes...ok, fine. But why? Is the hood shaped differently on the under-side, or what? Has anyone attempted it?
I'm looking at a 3.8L air lid on ebay, and I would like to know my chances of getting it to work on my 96 3.8L, y'a know, BEFORE I buy it ;)

    Thanks

I bought an airlid from a LS1 to do this very mod myself.
Just never got round to getting it done.
I'm gonna need to make a new Radiator top cover.

One thing I do know, from some research i've done, is that the lower radiator support on 98+ cars is slightly lower, allowing the radiator to sit slightly lower, allowing room for the airbox.

I'm guessing now, but I suspect i'm gonna run into some problems.

My plan is to use the air that feeds the Radiator, to feed the filter from below.

i think you will have to get a 98 air box if your want to to this because the 99+ dont have the angled TB but the 98 does and the box is made slightly different because of this.

The 98+ Air lids wont work on 93-97' because those years intakes are totally different, we have our intake right there in front like the RAM Air packaged cars do, you guys intakes come up then dive down into the drivers side bumper.
