got nothing to do might as well port and polish the intake

I picked up a dremil today to work on my tension pully(don't ask :mad: ) I might as well polish the intake while I'm at it. how would I go about doing this? anyone got a walkthrough for getting the intake off? I would apreciate it. [img]smile.gif[/img] BTW its a 3.4
I did that to mine. You need different grades of sand paper. You cant use the dremel for all of it and the grit is to coarse. Alot of the work is done by hand.

I'd try 150, 320 600. that would get it decently smooth, but now that I think about it, stay about 150. If you do your heads, do up to 600 on the exhaust (to mirror finish it). You need irregularities in the intake ports (head or intake manifold) for supposedly better atomization.

The dremel works well for getting all the flash off. I think I used 80 all up to 400 or 600. I honestly cant remember.
Then you need to get some polish(simichrome is supposed to be real good)and buff the hell out of it. Then there is some stuff you need to get that seals the aluminum so you dont have to keep buffing it and it retains the luster, I think thats called zoopseal.

Are you refering to the outside or the intake ports. I was talking about polishing the outside of the intake to a chrome like shine not gasket match porting and polishing.

You can sand the outside to look like chrome. You need to use a low grade sandpaper to get past the first rough parts then move to a 220 grit, then to a 320, 440, 600 and so on. Then use a polishing coumpoung (rouge works best) to get the perfect shine.
