Hey guys, as some of you may know, i accidently bent my throttle plate, so now the car is idling rough, so i need to find someplace i can buy a new one at. I have a few questions...
1. What size is the throttle plate 80 mm 70mm 60mm?
2. If i got a TB from a junkyard, what years would fit on my car
3. Where can i get a new throttle plate?
Thanks alot guys,
Ron

You can get one from a junkyard. 96-98 are the same, just make sure it has the same transmission (A4 or M5). It may be easiest just to get a new throttle body.
If you can get the throttle body cheap enough, buy a throttle body off any 3.8L firebird/camaro engine you should be able to put the throttle plate into yours, correct me if I'm wrong but all the throttle bodies are the same in same inside. I dont think GM will see just the plate, prob the whole thing and its expensive as hell from GM. Best bet, check the junkyards and call some companies who mod 3.8's and see if they have any laying around or know where to get one.
no you cant use any 3800 TB. you can only use the 95-98 3800 TB (yes the 3800 was an option in 95). the 99+ use a fly by wire TB.

95 will only work if he has an Auto. If he's got a Manual, 95 TB won't work. ;)

The 1998's throttle bodies are straight, right? If they are, will this still work on my car, since my TB is angled?
BTW my car is automatic
Thanks,
Ron

The TB itself on any car is not angled, the intake manifold is. Regardless, the 98 TB is angled just like the 97s. Like I said before, 96-98 are exactly the same. 95s also since you have an auto. ;)

Throttle Bodies (A4 on the Left, M5 on the right)
It's different where the cable hooks up to the throttle. Not exactly sure why it's different.
I would assume the throttle blade itself would be the same, but it doesn't list the part number for it so I can't check it.
