It cost $99.95 plus $50 for shipping and I had it installed at an exhaust shop for another $50. I could have gotten it cheaper probably, but I wanted a new one.Black 2002 Camaro M5-SS takeoff muffler, B&M Ripper, K&N Filter, 35/20% tint, Infinity speakers, Viper alarm, perpetually breaking clutch return spring mod. 15.49@90.15
Pewter 2002 Firebird M5 (Dad\'s Car)

It's actually louder than I thought it would be. There's a decent difference going from my dad's Firebird with the stock muffler still on it to mine with the SS takeoff, and it's louder inside.
Probably not much of a performance difference, but it looks a lot better than stock and I can still hear people on the phone and in the car with me.Black 2002 Camaro M5-SS takeoff muffler, B&M Ripper, K&N Filter, 35/20% tint, Infinity speakers, Viper alarm, perpetually breaking clutch return spring mod. 15.49@90.15
Pewter 2002 Firebird M5 (Dad\'s Car)

I put just the muffler and tips from an SS on mine. It definitely sounded louder than stock and it did pick up some performance in the mid range (the V6 muffler is VERY restictive). SLP used to advertise the SS takeoff with a gain of 10-12 HP on a V6 model, proven by their claimed dyno testing. As it's aged, it's actually gotten a lot louder still, enough that people notice.1999 Y87 Camaro
Whisper Lid, SLP SS Takeoff Exhaust

I put on muffler from a Trans Am and got a high flow cat. It also got louder than stock, I did notice a slight gain in performance.
