But...but...does the stock i pipe flare out to 2.5 to go over the muffler 'in'? I have two 2.25 muffler exhaust...and the inlet pipe to the muffler is larger. what is pi formula for diameter from circumference? Cir/pi? I think that is it. ugh...back under car.
I just had a magnaflow muffler put on to get me buy until full seystem replacement. the new muffler was 2.5 in. He did not take the mid pipe out to resize it. nor did he use a reducer. my brain hurts. Whatever the case...my 2001 has a big fat I pipe. It is not dramaticaly smaller than the 3in y pipe to cat section. The 2.25 tail pipe sections ARE dramaticaly smaller. back under car.

(not trying to argue, BLLDOGG, also not trying to spread bad info willy nilly...sorry if my earlier post is wrong...i gotta get a tape measure...that I pipe is PHAT. It just can't be 2.25....dizzy, very dizzy...somebody hold me...just hold me.)

Hey, the tips on the Z28 exhaust (rectangular flat ones), does anyone know the size? Or if they would fit an aftermarket exhaust w/out tips?
