I just got the RKSport Headers (welded of course) and the random technology high flow cat added on to my existing B&B Tri-Flo cat back system w/quad tips. The deeper sound is something outta this world but on loudness scale its a little to much. I've heard of resonators for the exhaust but have no clue what they are. What are they and is there anyway I can get one for my cat back system. If not, is there anyway that I could quiet down the system? Any answer is appreciated.

Resonators reflect the exhaust sound back onto itself, supposedly canceling each other out. It must be true since they do quiet the exhaust down a bit but only produce 1 psi backpressure. If you want a more free flowing exhaust, get the slp loudmouth with the resonator in the i-pipe.2001 Arctic White Firebird
T-Tops, 3.42 rear gear stock
Mods:K&N Air Filter,Whisper Air Induction Lid, maf screen removed, raised air box, Kumho Ecsta 712 255-50-ZR16 tires, BMR stb
Mods not installed yet: FTRA, SLP Lsd/Differential cover
Near Future Mods: HPP3, GMMG 3\" Exhaust , 1LE Swaybars, Transgo Shift Kit, MSD-DIS-4 w/ Accel Coil-Packs, Turquoise Blue Neon Underbody Kit, BMR Adj. I thought about that but quickly dismissed it. I love the B&B Tri Flo and figured that I'd install 2 custom resonators, but will the resonators take away some of the depth of the exhaust sound. Also is there anyway that the loudness (not the deepness) could be reduced by modifying the air intake in any way?1996 Camaro 3.8L A4
*RK Sport Headers, RT High Flow Cat, B&B Tri-Flo Catback w/Quad Tips
*17\" Camaro SS Rims w/Firestone Firehawk SZ50 EP (275/40/17 Front, 285/40/17 Rear)
*SLP Speedometer Recalibrator
*American Sports Car SS Style Hood, Painted Green Disc Calipers and Drum Shells
*Charcoal Leather Interior

The thing is I want to keep the Tri-Flo tips on my exhaust. Currently, B&B doesn't make resonators for the exhuast so if I went to an exhaust shop could they custom fit 2 of them onto the pipe after the muffler? Has anyone ever done this? If so, what were the results.
