a flowmaster sounds like crap with the stock pipes. Once you get bigger ones the sounds is 100% better. I have heard dynomax on a 97 maro and I did not like it at all. It was still ricy in the high RMP's and not as load as the flowmaster. I'm sure if you add bigger pipes the sound would be better. I say just save up for a Cat-back or get the flow and have new bigger pipes made to go with it. Everyone thinks my car is a V8 when I come down the street. I have a flowmaster 80 with 2.5" pipes and resonator tips.White 98 Camaro with t-tops leather and Y87. For more info on mods just ask.
1/4=14.9
2002 Xterra V6 A4

I had my flows for a year and it did get a little better, but it still riced up. Flows, dynomax or whatever muffler you choose reacts differently depending on how your system is set up. I just got my 3" catco installed Sunday along with a 3" custom S pipe and a lS1 I pipe. It deepened my exhaust tone and NOW it sounds like my flows I had at IDLE ONLY. I think some people have better luck with certain mufflers whether it's a flomaster, dynomax, borla, etc. I heard TheCardinal's soundclip of a flowmaster and that's the best clip I've heard so far.99 Camaro Z28 A4
R.I.P. 00 Firebird 3.8
14.89 @ 90, 2.03 60\'

 I have a Flowmaster. I've had it on for about 2 YEARS. Major burn-in period is the first 3 months. Very little change after that.
I ordered a Dynomax the other night, I'll let you know what I think after I put it on.-James

\'96 3.8L A4 Camaro (SOLD)

Yeah, it's definitely not the same sound. However, I heard a guy with an open cutout on his 3.4 last week and that thing sounds burly in low RPM. Definitely don't want to put one on though. -James

\'96 3.8L A4 Camaro (SOLD)
