I have stock v6 muffler on my 2001 firebird. Want something a bit better. A friend has a flowmaster 40 series, and its nice and loud, but i dont care for all that interior resonance, i just want a bit throatier sound, not a boomer. Thinking about a 40 series delta flow. Any opinions here on flowmaster performance for a v6??

The 80 series crossflow is very nice and doesnt rattle the interior like a 40 would... I think its throaty but mellow, unless you stomp on it :D2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

I have a 1994 3.4 Camaro with an 80 series Flowmaster. It took a few months for it to burn in, but now it sounds very close to a V-8. A bunch of people have came up to me complimenting me on my Z28, then I tell them it's a 6 and they cant believe it. DON'T go with Dynomax, it may be low, but it doesn't have as much of a rumble. Flowmaster is much louder and better sounding once it breaks in. Get the 80 series, you wont be disappointed. I only paid $130 total after labor.2003 Nissan 350Z Touring Coupe, Daytona Blue, Frost leather interior, navigation, 18 inch wheels, M6, fully loaded, intake, crank pulley.

Previous cars:
1991 Mustang (347)
2002 RS Camaro
1985 IROC-Z (305)
1994 Camaro convertible V6

dynomax doesnt have a rumble with lame exhaust tips i have quad squared tips and its not loud but it rumbles. and it doesnt get annoying as hell above 3k like flowmasters do. and yes I had one yes i had it long enough to "burn in" i am 110% happier with the dynomax
If you wanna see my tips check my sig they are also on fasttoys.net

Dude, you're the only one on this board that do all of this dynomax HATIN just to say YOUR muffler is better. I know about both mufflers from experience but I don't just bash the hell out of the flows. You need to ask flowmaster for a job or somethin..DAYUM..99 Camaro Z28 A4
R.I.P. 00 Firebird 3.8
14.89 @ 90, 2.03 60\'

I was just at the Dynomax website and downloaded the pdf of their products. They don't list any mufflers for the v6 Fbods.
Did you buy the one for the V8? If so, what did you have to do to it to make it fit? (I assume the pipe sizes are different)
P.S. My brother-in-law has a v6 camaro (95) with the flowmaster and I think it sounds like crap. He's had it 9 months and it still sounds ricey. (Nice tips, though... big ovals, pretty cool)

Yea, it's listed for the V8s, but it'll still fit with no problem. Depending if you want new tailpipes or not, any muffler shop can hook you up if they're not lazy.99 Camaro Z28 A4
R.I.P. 00 Firebird 3.8
14.89 @ 90, 2.03 60\'

When you say Flowmaster sounds bad after 3k RPM, you did NOT give it time long enough to burn. I had mine a year, then when I blew some carbon out of my engine, it did something because it made the Flowmaster much more deep and had more of a rumble and louder. My car is not an every day car, so it had a lot of carbon in the valves. Once I dogged it to get it out and ever since, the Flomaster has been great!2003 Nissan 350Z Touring Coupe, Daytona Blue, Frost leather interior, navigation, 18 inch wheels, M6, fully loaded, intake, crank pulley.

Previous cars:
1991 Mustang (347)
2002 RS Camaro
1985 IROC-Z (305)
1994 Camaro convertible V6

You need to stop with this debacle of yours. It only takes about 3 months of driving with a muffler for it to burn pretty much all the way in. Flowmasters just generally sound bad on our cars after about 3k rpm, period.-James

\'96 3.8L A4 Camaro (SOLD)

You obviously don't know ANYTHING about Flowmaster. It takes more than 3 months to burn in. Mine keeps getting better each month. If you actually had one, you didn't give it enough time. If you didn't, you don't know anything about it. One thing I know for sure is, my friend had a Dynomax, then he realized how it sound like like a ricer compared to mine and he switched over.2003 Nissan 350Z Touring Coupe, Daytona Blue, Frost leather interior, navigation, 18 inch wheels, M6, fully loaded, intake, crank pulley.

Previous cars:
1991 Mustang (347)
2002 RS Camaro
1985 IROC-Z (305)
1994 Camaro convertible V6

people seem to forget that you need more than just the muffler. You need to get a bigger s-pipe (or go with the 2 45 degree pipes as some have done) and a bigger I-pipe, then the muffler. The tips are up to you. Resonated, non-resonated, pipes, dual tips ect you can get what ever you want. But just getting the muffler will make our cars sound very ricy above 3K, no matter what muffler you have. JMO save up a little more to get a complete system, you will be very pleased that you did. And get what is in your budget, flowmaster, dynomax, borla, what ever you can afford.1996 Y87 Camaro, 175.0 rwhp, 211.6 rwtq.....1/4 15.500@88.54 <----- Needs work!!
-CAI, Custom bent S-Pipe, LS1 I-Pipe, Flowmaster 80 series, !MAF, manual fan switch, relocated trunk pop switch, 180 degree t-stat, More to come!
http://camaro.wbisolutions.com
WANTED!!!
