Despite the problems recently with Pacesetter headers, I'm thinking I should be safe in purchasing a set for my 3.4 'bird as every picture I've seen show a 2-piece Y-pipe. Summit's price is $318 for the armor coat ones.
However according to the description these will not fit cars with A/C, so do all you 3.4 owners out there not have air or will they still fit with modification?

Okay, thanks Red I did get that clarified and you're correct, I took "w/o air" to mean A/C but it is referring to the AIR injection.
So my car does have the air pump. The pump line is threaded into the passenger side exhaust manifold near where the EGR is located. I take it then the Pacesetter headers don't have a bung to connect this line? Are there 3.4 Fbodies that don't have the pump? Why would some have and some not?
If you have the smog pump, you will be okay, just take it out. Just because you have the smog pump doesn't mean that you CANNOT install them. Just do a clean removal, where you can't tell that a smog pump was there, and you will be alright.

Considering it, however they now do visual emissions inspections in my county, which means they look to make sure all emissions gear is in place. I don't know if they would know whether there was supposed to be a pump there or not. That's why I was asking which 3.4's had pumps and which did not.
When you do the installation of the headers, you can remove the smog pump and related plumbing in a way so that they would not know if there was one there or not. You remove the whole pump and everything.
