• Loudmouth + Magnaflow Cat + SLP S-pipe = AWESOME!

Wow, I didn't think just a convertor and s-pipe would make this much of a difference in the sound of my exhaust note. It turns out the idiot that put my LM on that fabbed the stock s-pipe to fit the 3" opening did a TERRIBLE job and I had an exhaust leak... I could see daylight through the damn thing after the shop guy cut it off!! It was such a pathetic attempt I just laughed when it was thrown to the ground and forgotten forever. The new sound is incredible, it's much more rumbly and the overall pitch is deeper. The "weedwacker" sound at higher rpms seems to have been tamed finally! At least it's not nearly as noticable. Also, the interior resonance has lessened quite a bit. I think the bottle neck that the stock converter and s-pipe made plus the exhaust leak made much more noise underneath the passenger side before. Now everything is wide open and I love it! Anybody that is thinking of getting a LM just has to get a high flow cat. and a 3" s-pipe, otherwise you won't get nearly as good of a sound out of it. It's still VERY loud, but it's not embarassing anymore at high rpms, it's just freaking deafening! Now all I need is my PCM to come back from TSP so I can drive my car again... I only drove it home and immediately ripped the computer out and sent if off, such a shame but that short drive was enough to convince me the full 3" system is worth it. Sorry I don't have a way to record my new sound, all I have is an old analog camcorder and I don't have any way to plug it up to my laptop :(

i shall soon be a proud owner of this setup. i'm going to get the loudmouth and order a 3'' carsound cat from ebay and u-pipe from summit and make an s-pipe out of it. i can't wait to hear how it sounds. i'm tired of my flowmaster set up and want something different.

30045 I believe, it's the LT1 Loudmouth adapter kit or something like that but it's the same part we need to use any 3" cat-back made for a V8. The quality of the part is awesome, it also comes with replacement hangers and everything you need to install the LM, not a bad deal at all. Only thing was for some reason it was setup to attach to a ball flange or something so my exhaust guy just hacked that part off and welded it together permanently.

Again, the sound is great. She's REAL mean now :-P

I used a Bassani ball joint on the back side of my catalytic converter to bolt to the ball joint on the SLP S-Pipe. I makes removal/installation a little better.

Thanks for the help. DRKSDE did you notice any loss of power (torque) down low with the different converter and s pipe?

Nice, so you're still on stock manifolds? I have pacesetter and my exhaust got much deeper. I was thinking of getting a loudmouth. I have a high flow cat and will probabaly get them to make a 3" s-pipe too. It should sound nice right?

Ya I'm still on the stock tubular manifolds. smhcamaro, no I didn't feel any loss at all on the low end, in fact I think I picked up some power all the way through if my butt-meter (SOTP) is still calibrated right I'm planning on adding Pacesetter's next to finish off my exhaust, I'm sure it'll deepen the rumble even more even if they don't flow that much better than the stock tubes. If by some chance I find some cheap way to record my setup I'll post it here for sure. Good luck to you guys, let me know how you like it once you have it all together!

i'm pretty sure all you'll need is the exhaust system, then you can order the LT-1 install kit with it... use that. it comes with what you need to put it on your v6.

Depends on the shop really and if you have them weld it (which I recommend). My shop at the time charged about $180 to install it and make the stock s-pipe attach to the LM, which turned out to be a piece of crap fabrication job. Anyways, I wouldn't pay over $200, shop around. My LM cost me $300 + shipping off ebay brand new. The adapter kit/s-pipe was like $50-$70 I can't remember off the top of my head, do a search on google for SLP 30045 and look at a few shops for the cheapest price.
