By flows 80 series, i'm guessing you mean just the muffler? or do you have a cat-back with it? If so, what size pipes do you have?

catco universal from summitracing.com
3" in it has to be, your out can be whatever you want. stock is 2.25", so i wouldn't suggest that, i would suggest 2.5" or 3", a lot of people think 3" loses too much backpressure, and 2.5" loses too much hp, but it doesn't really matter. they won't offer many gains regardless of which route you go. but if you go bigger than 2.25" out, upgrading your s-pipe as well will be a good idea.2000 NBM M6 Camaro Z28
323/335

hmmm, i've not heard of getting just a better cat without a cat-back. You probably aren't going to get any big gains from it by itself. An aftermarket cat, say a 2.5" high flow (if keeping all your pipes stock) might deepen the sound a little, but your stock pipes are 2 1/4" like mine were so your not going to see a lot of difference. If you plan on getting a 3" cat-back in the near future, you could hold off and get a 3" high flow cat with the entire system and save a little on installation. Using a 3" high flow cat, with an after market cat-back will change the sound a little (deeper, maybe a little louder) than with just the cat-back, plus it makes installation a bit easier if you end up getting 3" pipes. Hope this helps.

I did my muffler and then upgraded to 3" all the way including the cat and the sound was a LOT better at all RPMS.
I don't have headers but my car sounds pretty dam sweet, at least in my opinion.1996 Silver Camaro, Y87, M5, cammed..
N/A Best Time: 14.012 @ 98.59
195 rwhp / 233 ft-lbs b/f heads/cam
Check out my site http://silver3800.cz28.com/
