  • whats the name of that whatchamacallit b4 the cat?

if i buy a 3 inch cat back exhaust and a new cat that is 3 inch too (one of the flowmaster kits for the 93-97 z28s.) i will need to replace whatever goes between the cat and the manifolds right? whats that called and can i get one that goes from normal (i have a 3.4) to 3 inch so everything will fit up nicely without chopping and stuff. i surched the forum, but cant find an answer.
I\'m so used to doing so much with so little, I can do anything with everything!

the y-pipe? not necessarily; if the diameters between the inlet of the cat and the outlet of the y-pipe are different the exhaust shop should be able to hook you up with some kind of adapter system, even if it's just stepping up pipe sizes and filling in with weld.

doubt it; on top of that it would be more expensive than the shop just fabbing something up real fast. it's not as ghetto as it sounds :D
