  • Question about Pacesetter problems

I ordered my Pacesetter's around june 10th from texas speed. I am going to have a shop do mine but i was wondering if my set will have problems or not? Can someone give me a list of the problems that can be expected with them? Also will i need to use 2 gaskets on each header so they wont leak and if so where can i get the gaskets? Will i have to order them?

The gaskets should come with the headers. You will only need the 1 set that is sent you, they work fine.
As for problems: the knuckle on the steering column will need to be shaved down a little due to rubbing on the headers, the y-pipe might need to be lengthened in order to fit correctly over both headers, and you might have some contact between the y-pipe and tranny.
You never know until you try to put them on if you will have a problem with them or not. Some people got lucky and got ones that fit, others had a large gap. So good luck and enjoy.

the gasket they give your r fine. i never had problems w/ my steering column, the EGR "hole" is too long, the y-pipe isnt long enough and i just bent mine to fit, and it might touch the tranny cause mine does and you will need new spark plug wires(90* boot) to fit.

The gaskets that they come with are about the only decent thing. Those seem to have sealed fine with mine... I did soak them in water the night before however. The problems I encountered with my headers were:

y-pipe did not line up with the headers
y-pipe rubbed on a flange on the tranny
headers rub on the steering linkage

Hope you have a good shop.
