Or you could make your own long tubes with 3" primaries, 2" collectors, and a 2" into 1 5/8" Y-pipe. That would be the best. ;)

erm I hope you got those dimensions backwards lol. 3" primaries wouldn't fit on the heads.... 1 5/8" y-pipe would cause so much backpressure not even sure the engine would rev lol.

Well seeing as how most people aren't Jesse James from Monster Garage, and still few lack the funds to pay such a man to fab up some long tubes... Pacesetters is still the best bang for the buck, fitment issues or not.

Pacesetters plus what you pay the shop to customize them equal the price of CIAs. But if you guys want to have some fun with headers then get Pacesetter. In the V8 world where they actually have the choice, they pay twice and three times the price for good headers and stay away from pacesetter. We have CIA as the only quality choice and most of us are poor so I understand some of your feelings. My car was undrivable after I put them on. They were sitting right on top of the steering linkage. I still have leaks to fix.

            problems with pacesetter

-driver's side flange won't fit and will have to be cut
-driver's side primary will hit the steering linkage
-Y pipe will be too short
-both collectors will leak as the design is pretty bad

              -EGR leaks...
-Uh.... erm... I cut my hand installing them?
-Thats all I can think of.

Those would be some interesting headers....I wanna see you fit 3 3" tubes off the header flange and down the side of the engine.

I had no problems with my pacesetters and installed them myself.

all the #'s that Craig Griffis put down for the specs on the headers are backwards if you didnt notice. i think he was trying to be funny or his terminoligy is really screwed up.

I will never again buy cheap headers. You factor 300 for the headers then 150 to fix them... you're right there up there with CIAs and less headaches.

Couple of things that popped out at me here: Whoever is paying anything over $40 to have a shop fix the bad headers is getting ripped off HARDCORE! It is an easy fix, that any good shop can do VERY quickly. Not saying it should have to be done, and Pacesetter is working on fixing the problem. But, people are insane for paying a shop that much to make 2 simple welds.

Also, how do you know what people do in the "V8 world"? I sell more Pacesetter headers for the LS1 in a day than I will sell the expensive Kook's, Hooker, JetHot, and other headers put together in a month! Pacesetter is a good company, that has some problems just like any other company in this industry.

In the afore-mentioned "V8 world", there have been numerous companies make poor quality products such as valve springs that have actually ruined motors. One such company is Comp. And they got better from their mistakes, and people still buy their product.

I have been helping Fred at Pacesetter first hand with redesigning the V6 F-body headers. He is aware of any issues they have had, and is working to revise the design for you! These changes will hopefully include getting rid of the ball-joint flanges (other company's headers like RKSport are MUCH worse BTW), making an easier EGR provision so the late-model cars don't have problems, and more.

Thanks for your time, and now I'm off my soap-box:)

Awesome that they are improving the design... but um unless I melt my headers or severly damage them I'll never get to take advantage of this lol. Get them to make forward sweeping headers matt lol.
