Apparently you didnt read a post in the last 2 months.
I had no problems with mine either about 6 months ago.
Everyone who ordered them recently got terrible ones that would not fit. The Y-pipe was too wide and they had to take it to a shop to have it fit.
Pacesetter gave some BS solution and now no one likes them.Shawn
2002 Silver W68 Firebird

I'd still get the Pacesetter's, even knowing that they have had problems! Any good exhaust shop should be able to fix the problem for well under $50! Not saying it's cool that it has to be done, but they are going to perform withing 1 rwhp of the CIA's, for several hundred $'s less. Just my opinion.www.fullthrottlev6.com THE SOURCE!

I just think Pacesetter is a sh*tty company for putting this product out. You should NOT have to buy something and take it elsewhere to get fixed. There are HUGE problems with these headers.
I had to fork out an extra 150 bucks to get mine fixed.
ypipe was messed up where it met the header.
ypipe was rubbing on a peice of the transmission.
headers rub on the steering linkage.
IF you want to deal with all these and have to take it to a shop then sure... order paceseters. However, like you said in your post, if you want the best and want them to fit right out of the box then I would go with CIA. Pacesetters are FAR from being the best.

I agree...a company should not put out a product that is as bad as what has been dealt with.
Showing the company support by still buying their product definatley will not make them fix the problem but will make them think that since their name is so big its alright.
PLUS I thought they were going to stop selling pacesetters until the fixed something...but I could be wrong about that.
A few months ago I would have praised pacesetter after putting mine on and everything fitting perfectly. But they have definatley lost my support by seeing first hand what kind of crappy product they sold to other people.Shawn
2002 Silver W68 Firebird

Well the only problem I have with the CIA headers are their primaries. They're only 1.5" compared to the 1.75" primaries of the RKsport or Pacesetters. If you are just going to do basic mods, the CIA's would be fine...but if you were to put a big cam, turbo, supercharger or run N20, you will definitely not be optimizing any of those power adders.Eclipse 8443, CDT ES-620s in doors (Clarion APX401.2), IEK, CDT 6X in rear(HU), Image Dynamics ID10v.3D.4 in stealthbox(Clarion DPX1001.2)
http://www.sounddomain.com/id/larryfirebird33
borla cat-back, FTRA, whisper lid

The pricing difference between CIA and Pacesetters is huge isn't it? Last time I checked you could get coated Pacesetters with the y-pipe for around $300. Isn't CIA more like $500? My exhaust shop is competant, I'm sure it wouldn't take them any more than an hour to custom fit and install the headers. And like they said, the performance difference is minimal with a proper install (i.e. no leaks).2002 Black Firebird:
A4, Y87, W68, T-tops
Best NA ET: 15.16 @ 90
http://members.cardomain.com/darksde02
